Breather chamber

Hi

Can anyone advise what finish the plastic breather chamber, mounted beneath the air cleaner case, was originally? Is it the white finish of the material used or was it painted in black to match the air cleaner case?

Sorry, its a 1976 CB400F2. The part cleaned up seems to have an off white/light grey plastic colouring, if that helps?

Thats the original finish, the washer that seels it to the air box rots look after it  ;)
