CB750K0 Carburettor Problems

<< < (2/7) > >>

Bryanj:
Does this have the 4 into 1 throttle cable? If so they were always a pain to set up and the cables frequently bind up giving wierd balancing problems, i don't know if new cables have been fitted or are available but that is one, expensive, thing to try

Quote Steph,..(Has anyone experienced anything like this)?

"yes I have, on my cb750 f2" but it was related  to the spark plug cabs which were shorting out badly and was only spotted
by my son after numerous wild goose chases,....definitely worth a look for sparking in that area.

     hope this helps,.terry

should add that 4 new plug  caps fixed the problem and bike now runs superbly

+ 1 ON THAT I have also found what i thought to be a carb problem to be a coil related problem, i could have sworn it was carbs by the symptoms

JamesH:
+2 on that. Worth pulling the plug caps and putting a multi-meter across the plug caps individually and across the pair of ht leads from each coil to check the impedence. Should be 5kohm caps and 15 on the coils

philward:
Are your carb to cylinder head boots the original items? As we all know, 40+ year old rubber goes really hard and doesn't seal very well. At 30 squid a set, it might be worth a try if the advice on previous posts doesn't work. As these symptoms are normally an air leak issue, might be worth a try.
