Brilliant, ordered along with a spark plug spanner. I've decided to strip the engine down now and clean all the parts. Hopefully to try to protect them from any further damage. Just incase the water hadn't been in there too long.

My Ignition switch arrived today. So i hooked a battery up and tested everything. Everything seems to work, the only issue i can see if that the rear light is constantly on. The light switch has no effect on its operation, when the switch is moved the light flickers ever so slightly but nothing more.

Is there anything i could look at that may be causing it?

Thanks
Mike

MCTID:
If its a Canadian Bike (or perhaps a US Bike supplied to certain States) the lights are often linked to the ignition.....i.e. Ignition On = Lights On.

I had a Suzuki GT500 which I bought new in 1976 when I lived in Canada and that always ran the lights as soon as the Ignition was switched on........I had no problems with that set up but if I remember correctly it was the law at the time in Canada.

Worth looking into......maybe a UK market switch might solve the issue.

Thanks, that thought did cross my mind. Il take a look. When the switch is unplugged the light also stays on, i don't know if this makes any difference?
