Same as any polish, abrasive to wipe away oxides without scratching the chrome.  I did look up the  MDSS for it, there's a significant amount of aluminium oxide in there.

When we were kids and poor we would dig up a bit of clay and put that on a wet  cloth to shine up bicycle wheels and then a wipe over with an oily rag.

Regards
Dave

I've often seen clay blocks used in car detailing on utube etc...

Everything to do with 400's 🤡 Although there were one or two 400/4s bought new from Jackie Shearers back in the day, as far as I can see there were no banana yellow ones!  In fact my red one might be the only 400/4 in Orkney.  Oh, and by the way, it is Orkney or the Orkney Isles but never 'the Orkneys'.
But back to the story - a supermarket with 5 letters needed an order for 380 Kg but someone ordered 380 boxes - easy mistake, our Council does it regularly - wheely bins, crushed stone to name but two.!  They kindly redistributed them to worthy causes.  It would have been a 40 mile round trip for me to have some 'free' bananas!
Johnny might have had some - he's far nearer!

Ian

Forgot to add, we've had lots of ferry cancellations due to bad weather so the nanas couldn't be sent back.

I'll steal Dave's thunder before he gets in. No yellow ones as too fast for island roads. 🙄🙃😜

Said it before I know but I love the look of the angled, not upright cylinders on that generation of motors.

Nice work Dave. Did those have 16 or 17" front wheels. Or was it post that fad?

Dave. Watched a good video on Utube on one of these. Dragging clutch. Common problem with clutch getting hot when pulling away in what is a very high first gear. Metal plates warp. Superbike Surgery channel. Very addictive as he is so knowledgeable - if a little sweary!

Trying to track down a steel fabricator ideally  but not essentially in the midlands area. I'm wanting a bespoke circular staircase Balustrade making....

Any experience / recommendations?
