Just fancied one of these and after looking at a fair few I fired the cash cannon and brought this one home. It's a 1979 with 20k on the clocks. It definitely runs and I'll see how it rides later😬. It's hopefully a 'running restoration' but I guess only time will tell

Has anyone got any recommendations for paint to renovate the switch gear? Something hard wearing that doesn't easily rub of with use but thin enough so the lettering can still be filled with paint. I've had some powder coated but it's a bit thick and the writing isn't really visible anymore

As in title where should the main wiring route from the main frame near the coils to to the headlight? Should it go under the the lower fork yoke/triple tree as that's where the steering lock is? I know there is a cable routing guide on this website but I can't find it now 🙈

I've got the David Silvers Wiring Loom for my 550 but the wire colours are different. Obviously I've asked them if they have any information on what should be what but they are no help. Has anyone else found this and worked out what's what?

On the centre stand should the pin be fixed in the clamps that are on the frame and rotate within the stand or should the pin be fixed in the stand and rotate in the clamps on the frame?

As the title what colour should the lettering be on the switch gear? I've refurbished my old switches and coming to painting the lettering. Just wondering what colour this should be? Some seem to be a orange and some more of a red? Are the orange ones I'm seeing just faded red or were they originally orange?
