Thanks for that, I do seem to remember something along those lines, as to your bodgy job, if it works then it was not a bodge.
Nowadays I must admit that the thought of ripping the clutch apart does not thrill me.
The olden days when I would wrestle a 750 engine out of the frame on the drive by myself and rip it to bits are long gone so I will leave it as it is as it still drives and rides nicely.

Thanks and Cheers

Dennis

It's near impossible for me to get mine into neutral when I pull up at the lights, I have to cut the engine select neutral and restart the engine.
This is nothing new, I have had the bike since new April 1976 and it has always been the same.

I left my 750F1 on the centre stand for ten years and had no problems, but as Ted has said the clutch was a bit sticky.

After nearly 40 years working on oil refineries I've used them all on too many occasions, but in the house and garage I have CO2.

Continental and in the past TT100's for me on my 750F1 and being old fashioned I always run at 30 psi, I tend to ignore manufacturers blurb.

My cousin Rob had a CB72 and at the time it was my dream bike, at the time I had an AJS 250 (Saphire Sports?)
Sadly I never owned one, I stuck with Brit bikes until I got a Yamaha 80 which completely changed my mind about Brit v Jap bikes.

Now that is a nice looking bike, love the style of those era bikes.

I'm with Bryan, when I rebuilt mine, I took lots of photos before and during dismantling, store everything in seperate sections or boxes with labels.
Also take photos in of the various stages as you are rebuilding, when in doubt post questions here.
I build scale models and treated the bike the same way, I treated each section of the bike like a model.

Dennis.

I had no problem painting my LPM panels, I used Halfords rattle cans for mine, undercoated with Halfords plastic primer, 2 coats of Ford Graphite Grey, one coat of clear. The Ford colour matched the original Honda colour.

While I was at it I did some spares just in case.

On my 750F1 I used a fibre Glass repair kit in the inside of the panel and on the outside I used CA to fill the crack and sanded it smooth.
The trick with the latter is not to leave the CA too long as it gets really hard, use an accelerator and leave it for about 20 minutes before sanding.
