I recently fitted Bridgestone

Seems good, should be ok with the Avon rear

Should slide out,

Use plenty of penetrating oils
Suggest you put the tee piece in a vise

Try to move the caliper arm,

It should have O rings top and bottom on the shaft,

Plenty of gentle persuasion

Don't rush it

Remember to pack with grease on reassembly

Out on the 500 today, first time this year, it was only started yesterday for the first time since November

Cool breeze, just a little warmth in the sun

Wow, it felt good

Welcome
We are very friendly

Although the 400 afisionados constantly discuss which colour is fastest!

Have fun

Steve Cooper of the VJMC recently wrote a feature in Classic Bike Guide detailing how to convert US sealed beam unit to one with a lamp holder. It was about 4 or 5 issues ago. Unfortunately I now have to throw my bike mags away after I read them to avoid 'clutter'.
Thanks

Will check on the interweb

I'll give it all another go in the next couple of days. Just waiting for the replacement shims to arrive before delving deeper.
I saw that YSS shock Alan but at the time I was going to get the original shock rebuilt but now knowing it's going to cost somewhere between £250-£300 and some parts such as the actual damper rod are irreplaceable I went to bid on the YSS shock only to find it had been sold. I won't think about the suspension now until I know what I'm potentially in for with the engine!
I fitted mine with a Yss shock from Wemoto, not to expensive

Mine had previously been fitted with a CBR600RR unit, but the spring was far too soft,

Back end went down far to much

The damper travel is very short on NC30, so needs a stiff spring

Just having a look around

Very surprised by the headline

Seems the bulb is fixed in

Also probably need rear shocks and rim, badly corroded,

BTW

the tyres are as new original

Yokahama 3 x18 R
                    2.75 x 18 f

Ideal for a show queen bike, which never gets ridden

Any offers??

I have some good friends in Wooton under Edge. Is that anywhere near you?
Not to far away

That's a nice story. May I please ask if you also had a starter clutch problem or did you just decide to always go with the kickstart option? Did you remove all of the starter components to reduce weight as well?
No,

I diagnosed the sprag clutch was faulty,

Got a complete s/h from ebay,

I now know spares are available,

Kick started and took to my friend,

He is a professional bike engineer with his own business,

Job done

Check dear Mr Silver for rollers and springs

Hey, it's still a great bike

Use the Kicker,

Enjoy

I have the starter clutch go on my 500,

My mate did it in the frame

No were near that cost

Maybe someone knows if the smaller bike can be done like that

Nice John, much work needed?
Only spent a couple of hours looking around,

I connected a battery, the electric seem to work,

Does need various replacements

A few essentials, others cosmetic

The original RD mate, should be fun, somewhere got a dti to set up timing mate
It's the one just before the RD,

No reeds,

I have a DTI,

The mileage is 480

Seems from the condition to be true,

Clean oil in the gearbox, plenty of compression

I shall just tidy it up, polish the scratches etc

Keep it with its patina
