Check the connections on the back of the fuse box. They can get corroded and increase resistance, leading to blown fuses. Were your fuses old ones? The glass fuses can fail sometimes through ageing. I had one fail, the metal caps just separated from the glass.

Some of my most interesting flights were at Boscombe Down when I worked there for a few years. It's a Government test airfield so a whole range of aircraft based there, at the time it went from Harvards to Lockheed Tristar, plus a range of helicopters.
I got a flight in a Hercules doing test drops on Salisbury Plain. We were standing in the back with the rear door open. On the way to the drop site the Harvard chase plane came right up under the tail of the Hercules really close. When the loads were dropped the Harvard spiralled around the parachute filming it to analyse the behaviour.
Another flight was in an Andover on a "training flight" to Jersey and back. Beats working!

I used to use foam earplugs but a few years ago I bought Ride magazine recommended Auritech reusable earplugs. They are really good and come in a metal canister. 👍

I'm 69 and enjoying my riding. I keep my bikes on the road all year round, but only go out on select days in the winter. If it's not ice and snow that stops me going out, it's the salt on the road and the thought of having to wash it all off afterwards.
I did 130 miles on Wednesday on my 400f and I had a lot of aches the next day. I must get a "Sons of Ibuprofen" tshirt!

New rubber hoses should work well, it's just that as they age they start to bulge and reduce braking force and feel. Braided hoses don't do that. 👍

Thanks, Ted. I suppose it’s the contemporary look. TBH it’s a fantastic machine in all areas, though I suspect 400 mile days may be a thing of the past, mainly due to my physical state!
Big miles on a naked bike are really hard work. I've done 500 mile days on a Speed Triple, not any more! 🥴

IIRC the tighter coils go on the bottom(valve side) on the 400f so 750 would most likely be the same.

Thats like my paint tin openers, bought 5 so I dont lose them all but often misplaced them down to the last one. Normally find the all eventually- 5 currently!
Never heard of a paint tin opener - my tool has always been a screwdriver.🤔
I'm never too old to learn. 😀
My dad had some paint tin levers and would never ever use a screwdriver to open a tin. He was really old-school, and stubborn, it had to be the right tool for the job! I use anything handy. 👍

I spent nearly 3 weeks in hospital after a car pulled out in front of me. I was riding sensibly and within the speed limit. You just never know when an idiot is going to take you out.
I was wearing full protective gear which couldn't prevent my ankle and leg being smashed, plus a broken arm. I dread to think what damage would have been done if I hadn't been wearing the kit, the skin damage alone would have been horrendous.
In hot weather the minimum gear I wear is textile jacket with air vents, kevlar lined bike jeans and bike boots, plus helmet and vented gloves of course. As long as you're moving the heat is fine and when off the bike I take off the jacket.
These days there are lots of mesh jackets available with built in protectors, I'm seriously thinking of getting one because of the hotter weather we are going to keep getting in the future.
