Are the DVLA still bad at losing stuff, or have they got better?
I would still copy stuff before sending because I don't trust them. Just curious if they've improved at all.

I've got a Motobatt on my 400f, it's now 7 years old and still going strong. In the winter I just top up the charge every 4-6 weeks or so with a charger suitable for all battery types. Easy care. 👍

It's great to get out on the bikes. There's still salt on the roads here, but I did a short ride on Sunday. 👍

I'm afraid not. 😟

I like to keep it simple. Too much tech is definitely distracting and ott. My 400f has all the controls I need, my Triumph has even less, not even a kill switch! Although I have thought of adding one for safety.
My current 'box' is a Skoda SUV and the tech in that is ridiculous! I don't use most of it. Touch screen for this that and the other, voice control which is a P.I.A. It doesn't get it right most of the time, so I have to try again and again. It's easier to do it manually. If I'm talking to a passenger the voice control butts in because it thinks I'm giving it instructions! Very distracting!
And don't get me started on the 'Speed control' and 'Lane control' warnings which I have to switch off every single time I start the engine. 😫

They have got a SR71 Blackbird at Duxford, it’s an awesome thing to stand next to and well worth seeing. It was capable of sustained flight at Mach 3.2 and could fly from New York to London in 1hour 54 mins, that’s pretty awesome. Fuel consumption at between 16000 to 20000Kg per hour was a bit high though. Might just be a bit hard to get it through an emissions test these days 😂
I was working at the London Air Traffic Control Centre at West Drayton when the Americans brought an SR71 over to display at the Farnborough Airshow. They set a new record for the fastest time crossing the Atlantic on the way. The problem was that they couldn't slow down fast enough when they reached UK airspace. They overshot by some way and turned over Amsterdam which caused mayhem for the controllers responsible for the airspace!

The clutch cable has less than less than 1000 miles on it.
When I rebuilt the engine the balls were fine, they felt smooth and had no corrosion. Next time im in there Ill have a think about replacing them. Is there a part number or size for the ball bearings?
Whats the correct routing for the clutch cable?
There are some mentions of pictures on here but the image links are dead.
How did you set your click bite point?
I've just bought a new pattern clutch operating mechanism from DSS for not a lot of money because I had wear issues with both original mechanisms I had.

If your brass bits are OEM Keihin, thoroughly clean all the brassware, jets, emulsion tubes etc by removing them, then re use. Fit all new Viton O rings (I stock the kits), re use the top gasket. Carb cleaner is good but make sure you get it in all the hidden passages. Ideally, an ultrasonic cleaner is best (after removing all the internals) then you can get the entire carb body thoroughly clean. But, if all you have is carb cleaner, use that.
What Julie said is good advice, but don't mix up the parts from different carbs. Use a pot or tray for all the parts from each carb.

I was watching a How it's Made TV program the other night and oddly they referenced alloy distortion in it, it was 150c so that's confirmed. There was also a program on the SR71 Blackbird plane, it also mentioned that they couldn't make it out of alloy like the U2 again mentioning the distortion problem above 150c. They made it out of titanium instead.
At Mach 3 the airframe got very hot and titanium had to be used to withstand the high temperatures. Nearly every photo of the Blackbird in the hangar will have large drip trays under the aircraft because it used to leak fuel badly on the ground, possibly because of the expansion and contraction. Concorde only flew at Mach 2 and used to expand about 12 inches in length at that speed.

Why not make your own set? They are a simple tool to make.

These sohc bikes were produced right at the start of the first disc brakes fitted to production road bikes. As well as asbestos being removed from the brake pads, there have been huge improvements in the materials used as manufacturers tested and learnt how to improve braking performance. I would say that modern pads of the right type for our discs are a big improvement over OE pads.

It’s a great skill to be able just to make that missing or knackered parts. I have thought about buying a small lathe but just can’t justify the cost or the space for it. Might have to sell a bike…😳 Nope that ain’t happening.😂
You've always got Ian. 👍

Are the Wemoto Teflon lined like the OE cables?
I bought Slinkyglide cables from them which are Teflon lined I believe. Never had a problem with them.
