DOMP. Just a suggestion, but you could start a new thread and schedule out the pertinent “valuable”, factual information. That would be appreciated by all as it would make that information easily accessible?

Remind us please. Which carbs have you used and do you have a 4:1 exhaust fitted? 069A and 4:1 exhaust will definitely benefit from #38.

At least honda to their credit acknowledged the problem as soon as it was known about and did something to rectify it unlike KTM who just ignored the engine issues or their bikes and did nothing about it until they were forced to (by going bust). Personally I'd never buy a KTM after the way they behaved. The bikes affected had the Chinese made engine and that itself is a red flag for me regarding Chinese bikes. How good is their quality coupled with the poor resale value and lack of dealers especially considering how many Chinese bike brands are out there now.

I’m not sure the problem has been ‘cured’, but Honda have acknowledged the uncharacteristically high oil consumption. Most owners are returning to dealers to have the oil level checked, topped up as necessary and then being asked to keep a close eye on the situation so as not to run the oil level too low, which would lead  to oil starvation and catastrophic engine failure. Does anybody know of an owner who has had an engine replacement or had the jugs and pistons replaced?

Restricted? The only restriction is how long you can hang on.😁

Thanks, Ted. I suppose it’s the contemporary look. TBH it’s a fantastic machine in all areas, though I suspect 400 mile days may be a thing of the past, mainly due to my physical state!

Yup, they just get uglier.

I fancied a stock MT, but I’m not too keen on the 26 colour schemes. I had considered the new CB 1000 Hornet, but they seem to have a serious engine issue re excessive oil consumption.

After 10 years of BMW R1200 GS LC ownership I’ve gone in a different direction.

Just sold my BMW R1200 GS LC and I have some bits to part with. I know that some members here have machines other than Classic Hondas, so I thought I’d give these fellow members first option. I have for sale:

1) Vario top box in good condition.

2) BMW R1200 tank bag very good condition

3) Garmin Navigator V Sat Nav with case, lead, instructions and sd card with latest maps.

Send me a pm if of interest.

Regards

Pip

Thanks for the offer, Bryanj, but there’s very little of the T110 remaining as the engine is heavily modified. The only legacy components are the cases (modified) and the dynamo ( Lucas, prince of darkness FADE). Unit crank, Thunder rods, morgo 750, modified Bonny head, 3134 cams, lightened cam gear, electronic ignition, belt drive, 5 speed box……. Should be a right giggle for about 10 mins.🫣🫣

Very nice. I’m part way through a pre-unit T110/ wideline restoration. If you know the whereabouts of a T160 kickstarter please let me know.
