Do you have a vice?
Also look carefully down the holes in the screwed piece you should find some centre punch "stakings" which you need to drill down or you willdestroy the threads.

You can do it with a length of angle iron and drill two holes to fit two bolts in

Make one from nice thick plate with a handle welded on then cap screws to fit the holes in retainer fitted into carefully drilled holes

Back when the first Goldwings came out, we had a "shop" one and fitted a Marchall headlamp unit to it, now this had seperate main and dip bulbd like the halogen spotlight bulbs.
Sneakily wiring the dip bulb into the pilot circuit meant that both bulbs were on on main beam, plus having a "rally" shop in town high wattage, highly illegalof course, bulbs could be had which meant 200 watt ish on main beam, god help anybody who left their main beam on comming towards you!

Unless they have changed the wording the side,pilot, light is the obligatory light whilst the headlight was optional, although i know the test changed to all fitted lights must work which brought car reversing lights in

Ted a standard 7 inch will fit in those rims, i have done it when you used to be able to rumage in breakers yards, one thing you do have to think of is that car lights dip down and left with a distinct cut off whilst motorcycle ones tend to dip straight down with no cut off

Very trus, in all the years i have been doing this i have only ever seen one VISIBLY worn needle and that was on a grey inport Suziki twin of about 400cc from memory and that was ridiculously worn to the point of nearly falling in half, about 1/3 down from top.
Same as in all the 500 i have done i oly ever found one worn crank and again that was so worn it didnt need a mic to say it was scrap!

That is a US sealed beam unit as used on cars and the pilot bulb is not required there so there is no proper fitting, you can fit any 7 inch light and go Halogen(usually H4 bulb) BUT , no matter what Delta says, you need to keep the revs up to charge the battery, you could also fit a standard 500 or 750 unit but not 400

RIGHT, just to finalise the setting procedure i have attached pics of 2 pages of CB 750 K manual, ok its a dohc but still a 4 pot with 4 carbs and it describes how to set idle mix using an accurate tacho Ken do you think is acceptable, i could always make it a video by moving the camera about a bit!

The one gone in middle was high current, the one that looks good but isnt is vibration or the contact it clips into loose, so they went for different reasons and it could just be coincidence

Those vrt were wonderfull machince as long as you could keep bevel boxes in them, and the early gardner engine ones with air throttle were real.fun to.reverse
