Thanks for posting Nigel, some great footage there although I did half expect Dick Emery to appear at some point  :)
What is depressing is what has happened to the spoken word since the 70's, all these riders were very well spoken, even the 16 year old on L plates. There was no effing and jeffing and the now usual 'no but yeah' phrase that is so annoying.
As an aside to his lordship riding a sohc750 in the 70's, in the mid 90's both he and his son bought matching new Triumph Daytonas from of all places, Daytona Motorcycles in Ruislip (who are still there but who are no longer Triumph (or Ducati) dealers but who are now Kawasaki and Suzuki dealers. Their visit prompted a big front page splurge in the local paper at the time.

Snow French style! Just started, nothing really at all but severe weather forecast in our are the next few days and we have to get to the ferry Wednesday.

That looks perfect to have fun on the TL Tim 👍.
I was out in the workshop yesterday, it was freezing but the thermals kept me toasty apart from my feet that were like two big blocks of ice after a couple of hours and despite the insulated floor! Too cold to venture back into there today.

It is a like for like replacement but as previously stated it's half the price of the original Honda part.
I used one in my 400 rebuild and it's absolutely fine. I purchased mine from Daytona Motorcycles, it did have to be ordered in but was here within three days.

Just a thought but I wonder if these are something Max may be able to manufacture if there is enough demand?

A bit of good news to report, the bike is a runner 🙂. It's a bit rough carbwise but it started easily and I let it run for 30 minutes and there were no issues, no overheating and the fan kicked in at about 95-98C.
I think the exhaust may be blowing slightly and there is a ticking coming from the front bank when hot although this could be tight valve clearances as I understand these get left as they are so hard to get to.
Anyway that's the good news. I have dropped the oil and it was golden so more good news. Prior to dropping the oil I drained the cooling system and the anti freeze looked fresh as well. Pete Hamber advised me not to use a flushing agent but just to keep refiling with distilled water until it ran clean so that's the action I took and it's all good.
So now I know it runs I've begun the strip down to clean it up and refresh some of it (especially the alloy parts) although the forks need a rebuild but the rear shock looks very clean even the spring is pristine although the remote reservoir isn't!
During the stripping process I noticed there appears to be three finishes of the various nuts and bolts, BZP, yellow passivated and a black (or very dark green). I know Honda used an olive drab finish back in the 80’s but these appear to be something else.
Does anyone have any suggestions of what the finish could be?
Dave

I have one for the Laverda Jota Engine as an exploded diagramme but it is in not very good condition and being double sided and A1 size it is not really suitable to frame.

That's class👍.Hand change, that's brave 🫡.
My old CB250RSA used to be an absolute hoot to ride between 30-50mph as is my RE650,. You don't need a lot of power to have fun if you are on the right bike 😊.

80 euros, Jesus that’s dear.

I have 4 of them, 3 are the early version, 35750-333-013 and the last is 35750-333-023. All are still sealed in genuine Honda bags. There seems to be no difference between the 013 and 023 versions, Honda used that to show either slight modifications or a different suppler. In this case I suspect the latter.

Not sure where you are in the world but I suspect not the UK. As such I can’t say how much postage would be offhand but the switch itself would be £35 for the 013 version and £40 for the 023 version. That’s only because I only have one of the later and I can guarantee someone at some point will try and say they only want to fit the one listed in the parts book. The 013 version btw was the one listed for the 350F and afaik the gearbox is identical.

I could charge more of course but I detest people who overcharge and I’m not going down that road. The only reason it’s as expensive as it is is because I had to source them from Holland and the postage was very high or they’d be even cheaper.

Let me know if you want one and I’ll dig the one you select out and see how much postage would be.

Ken,
Good to see you are doing well and slowly getting back into action.
Whilst you are in your spares warehouse can you see if you have a complete RC30 in its original Honda parts bag you'd wish to sell me please  ;D
Have a good christmas after all you (and your family) have been through.

Is that the Northern Lights as well Gareth? Great shot.
We have bright LED street lights and kebab or fried chicken signs to look at in London 🙁

You are both doing well Ted and it's all positive news👍.

I was going to mention the Van Veen OCR too Dave  :) didn't realise that was the Citröen derived motor though.

There was a Citröen GS prototype rotary lurking in the corner of a garage recently, I think it was on Drew Pritchard car program when he went to by a NSU RO80 ... the owner noted that it was an "escaped" development vehicle.

You couldn't guess it was a car engine Nigel, they fitted a number of fancy covers over the engine to disguise it's origin's. I remember seeing this bike in a weekly magazine called 'On Two Wheels' back in the mid 70’s when I was a young teenager.
Van Veen rose from the dead a few years ago and made a few more OCR's from spares laying around, they were of course, reassuringly expensive!

Mazda are still at it. Twin rotor rotary hybrid + carbon capture.

 Mazda’s done it again: the Vision X-Coupe is a 503bhp rotary-engined concept | Top Gear https://share.google/VXGVingbPbSg7Ew6A

Nice looking concept Tim. I do like Mazda's and one of the only companies to continue with big block ICE's rather then relying on small 1 litre or less three cylinder engines with a turbo attached to give the same power with a lot less reliability.

Nigel, the sound of that race Mazda, absolute bliss and up there with the V6 Laverda👍
