My roommate at Uni (1977) had a speeding ticket at 104mph on his std 400/4 on the M23.

Must have been the downhill bit.

He was really chuffed

Not sure if a 'mate with a uniform' could find out more details these days - might be a sacking offence now!

I’m afraid it is.

US site has been overwhelmed by some sort of AI bot attack.

Glenn took it down and is investigating some sort of Cloudfare setup.

Looks like I need more posts to stop the verification questions. For some reason April isn't the current month, nor March or June?
It’s a stupid question. I never remember to update the answer.

Any AI would know the answer to that question. Hence the obscure answer

Yea, Neil Murray was Bike Pusher on here.
I met him once or twice in the early naughties and he seemed a reasonable guy.

Unfortunately, when he came on here he was rude and judgemental.

Shame really. The curse of “social media”.

He died in 2021.

I seem to remember the same advice for my VFR800. After the mild steel heatshield had rusted through and disintegrated.

…my other bike is a GPZ900R... ;))

Is that with a small r or a big R?

Wasn’t that the world’s first 150mph production bike?

Hi SteveD, thanks, I should have thought about that, but not really used to the Forum format.  Do you have an active Facebook group as well?
Not really of the Facebook generation I’m afraid. In fact, no social media presence at all

The forum is old fashioned but if you use a smartphone and Tapatalk, is quite easy to use.

Welcome and sorry about the verification system.
It’s there to stop spammers who register and post crap.

It should shut up after you have 5 posts.

In the meantime I’ll try to work out why it doesn’t know the month.

Ted - my wife and I went to see the Aussie Floyd at Nottingham last November.

There were quite a few “kids” (those in their 30s - like my kids).

To continue the thread hijack, my kids bought me the Wish You Were Here vinyl for my birthday in January. I had to break the 80s hifi out of the attic to play it.

The record deck (affectionately known as “The Rega”) is now connected to my wireless Sonos system and gets used regularly.

Sadly the old A&R Cambridge suffered 20+ years in the loft and sounded ok but cosmetically was destroyed (presumably by the heat cycles)

I must also (sadly) report that neither the Tannoys nor the Dynaudio speakers can match the sound of the Sonos

…Bike Magazine once 'Careful with that CBX Eugene'.

I was an avid reader of Bike in the 70s and 80s but I don’t remember this.

Defeated my Google search as well
