I have some good friends in Wooton under Edge. Is that anywhere near you?
Not to far away

That's a nice story. May I please ask if you also had a starter clutch problem or did you just decide to always go with the kickstart option? Did you remove all of the starter components to reduce weight as well?
No,

I diagnosed the sprag clutch was faulty,

Got a complete s/h from ebay,

I now know spares are available,

Kick started and took to my friend,

He is a professional bike engineer with his own business,

Job done

Check dear Mr Silver for rollers and springs

Hey, it's still a great bike

Use the Kicker,

Enjoy

I have the starter clutch go on my 500,

My mate did it in the frame

No were near that cost

Maybe someone knows if the smaller bike can be done like that

Nice John, much work needed?
Only spent a couple of hours looking around,

I connected a battery, the electric seem to work,

Does need various replacements

A few essentials, others cosmetic

The original RD mate, should be fun, somewhere got a dti to set up timing mate
It's the one just before the RD,

No reeds,

I have a DTI,

The mileage is 480

Seems from the condition to be true,

Clean oil in the gearbox, plenty of compression

I shall just tidy it up, polish the scratches etc

Keep it with its patina

I couldn't ignore the craving for blue smoke,

  so this appeared,
imported from the USA,very low mileage,so far it seems  ok,

You could try using fuel tubing,
Slit it open, the see how it fits,

Might need to experiment with different sizes

Thanks John.
I've seen the first two of those, RRC turns out some amazing work and I've been using the strip down episode as a reference although the editing does leave some parts out.
I spent another afternoon in the garage today, more stripping and noting. I had to use the 1000w Clarke mpact wrench to remove the two torx bolts holding the ignition barrel to the top yoke, they were glued in and were absolutely solid. They have joined the scrap pile as a result of having the heads virtually ripped off by the impact driver!
The 41mm socket turned up this morning and the steering nut is now off, again the impact wrench had to be used.
You obviously have the 36mm socket for the rear wheel,

You will need torx for the calipers, those are lovely to work on,
Wemoto has seals and stainless pistons

Enjoy

Dave, make sure you mask the centre of the rear wheel where the wheel nut mounts.
I think you mean the side next to the disc and sprocket

I would remove the bearings before coating

Obviously mask the hub,

Purely because removing after could damage the new coating
