CB750 / Re: CB750 K1 Float Bowls
« on: May 22, 2025, 10:15:32 AM »
K1 carbs are different to the earlier CB750 (K0) type - that said, the early type K1 float bowls  are the same as the earlier K0 type.
Difference between early / late K1 bowls is the drain screw - small screw head with aluminium washer on early, larger screw head with o-ring seal on later ones. The bowls are interchangeable as the carb bodies theirselves are the same an all K1 and will be marked 7A on the top of the mounting flange.
So, buy the cheaper NOS bowl or find a used one of any k series bike up to the K6.
Thanks Chris, very useful info.

Sorry, should have added - are early K1 carbs same as all K0's?
This gives me a chance to find second hand on Ebay

CB750 / CB750 K1 Float Bowls

Hi, hoping a more knowledgeable person than me can advise...
I've just stripped my carbs down on my 1970 USA K1 and found the overflow brass tube broken off in float bowl on number 2 and some numpty has pinched the output and then stuck the overflow tube back on!!
So needing a new float bowl, have looked at CMSL website and they show 2 versions according to serial number. Mine is the earlier (frame no 1061605) and typically is far more expensive (£178) - the later bowl looks nearly identical and is only £25.
Does anyone know if I can get away with using the later variant - weblink for reference - https://www.cmsnl.com/en-gb/honda-cb750k1-four-1970-1971-usa_model14354/partslist/E26.html

Thanks in advance

Hi All. looking for some advice...

I recently managed to source a NOS seat for my K1 on Ebay however it didn't come with strap/buckle. The aftermarket item offered by DSS will fit but is type for K2-K6 with cresent shape buckle

Can someone advise if the K0 square buckle is same as K1? Yamiya have buckle/bolts but listed as K0 item

Thanks in advance, Mark

Seems like good value given Frank also has a FS1E up for £11k

I've no experience of seats from MonleyDax but have just bought a rear chrome mudguard for 500K2 from MonkeyDax and quality of the guard, service and quick delivery were excellent - and didn't get hit with import duty for some reason.
Thanks for that, will keep that in mind........I'm accruing quite a shopping list and other peeps experiences help enormously

The seat from Dax is a plastic pan that splits easy and doesn't even look like a K1 seat. CMS is a OEM one  ;)
Thanks, appreciate the response. Wasn't sure it was OEM and just 1 x pic a bit meagre on an item you would consider paying £700 for

Hi All

I need to source a replica seat for my K1. Unfortunately, I can't justify £1100 for a NOS item

It seems Yamiya only offer a low version currently so I'm limited to CMSNL item @ £700 or Monkeydax (Vietnam) @ £190 + shipping and all associated costs

Does anyone have experience of either product or any other alternatives?

Thanks in advance

Its well worth getting the right seat as the later ones are a bit bulky looking and compleatly change the look
[/quote]

I think the look is ruined the second this podgy, grey haired old fella swings his leg over it!

Welcome to the mad world of the SOHC. The guy that restored that K1 could of got the right seat for it  :o
Yeah, guessing it's a repro seat for K2 onwards. No latch currently and latch bolts don't line up. Baulking at the cost of another seat on CMSL website though!!

Hi All

New member from Oxfordshire. Took the plunge a couple of weeks ago and bought a very nice 1970 CB750K1, restored by previous owner but still some things I can replace/restore such as wheel rebuild.

Just applied for historic reg (J plate) supported by dating docs from HOC, can't wait to get this baby out on the road!!

Cheers, Mark [ Guests cannot view attachments ]
