Over the years I have stuck to the look after your tools mantra and despair watching younger members of the family throwing brushes rollers and trays in the bin instead of cleaning them.
It's like throwing money away instead of doing a 5 minute job.

With my golden components I just gave them another coat and baked them again at lower temperatures, the crankcases were left to bake when the engine was running.

I did a similar thing in that my silver VHT paint went golden, I set the oven in centigrade not Fahrenheit.

I will never forgive Triumph for "stealing" the Rocket 3 name from BSA, I loved the original Rocket 3's style.

Sounds similar to my 750F1 left a lot of parts including the clocks alone, for the clocks I just replaced the chrome bits and resprayed the black.

Thanks for that, I do seem to remember something along those lines, as to your bodgy job, if it works then it was not a bodge.
Nowadays I must admit that the thought of ripping the clutch apart does not thrill me.
The olden days when I would wrestle a 750 engine out of the frame on the drive by myself and rip it to bits are long gone so I will leave it as it is as it still drives and rides nicely.

It's near impossible for me to get mine into neutral when I pull up at the lights, I have to cut the engine select neutral and restart the engine.
This is nothing new, I have had the bike since new April 1976 and it has always been the same.

I left my 750F1 on the centre stand for ten years and had no problems, but as Ted has said the clutch was a bit sticky.

Continental and in the past TT100's for me on my 750F1 and being old fashioned I always run at 30 psi, I tend to ignore manufacturers blurb.
