Hi Bryan, the indicator (suspension. winker) is larger than the (holder, coupler) I have attached a picture, the 2-way connector is 18mm across. once fitted in the rubber mount it's quite a snug fit to support the connector/diode

Thanks again - Alan

Its part of the safety circuit which also involves the clutch switch DS quotes the 'Rectifier silicone' part No. 31700-124-008 but there is no rubber holder listed on the DS site (CB750F1) Fitted to a number bikes, but I have only seen them fitted on the main wire harness
Thanks for the reply

The brown/blue wire is the supply from the head light shell switch (terminal Hi), it supplies the common terminal to the high/low beam handlebar switch The UK spec bikes had the head light shell switch to accommodate the city light Look up the CD175A 'sloper' wire diagram...very similar set-up.

There is normally 2 generator windings...1 rectified & 1 not. The XL250s/500s uses a combined rec/reg for charging/clock lighting/indicators/ect I have lifted the schematic from the XL500 shop manual, hope that you can see it

It's going tricky this one. Try having a look at the wiring diagram for the Honda MT125 (2-stroke)...similar set up to the XL125s but the diode is fitted very close to the battery.

You could also try Vehicle Wiring Products in the UK for a 4-way blade fuse box (Ref: FBB4T) I used to supply them for RD250/400's a number of years ago.

Good explanation. I have always found the accuracy of readings to be problematic (fluctuations) with budget digital multi-meters...I'm not sure what make/model/meter that you use, or could recommend?

The main wire harness part No. 32100-443-000 fits both models. There is also a rear lighting sub-loom, part No. 32200-443-000 that also fits both models.
