Ehyup Tim, I passed him those details about a year ago, I’m an avid fan and love his fuel injection diagnosis sessions.

Hi all, Well it’s been a fractious week and firstly can I apologise for lack of comms. Ken’s Lad, Craig called me on Tuesday to inform me he’d taken a dive and was going down hill fast as a result of a secondary infection on both lungs and had been back on the ventilator with things not looking good. For the sanity of the family and for me not wanting to post a fretful piece full of bad news I hung back and I know some of you have messaged me asking for news but I’ve had to just keep a lid on it. I’ve been in contact all week on a daily basis with Craig and although it seemed a lost cause and a possibility of having to call the vicar, the stubborn bugger has rallied and responding to the new drugs and gone from needing the ventilator 24/7 to now only requiring it about 15% of the time, even managing a 24hr spell breathing on his own. Fantastic news as I’m sure you’ll agree and a sigh of relief for the family. He’s got a monster long way to go but he’s fully with it although still can’t talk but is mouthing his words over so communication is coming on. His lad took him his eye pad in today d he could watch the GP which will have cheered him up no end I should imagine. When they called into the ICU today to see him, he was with the physio and apparently they had him standing up and supporting his own weight albeit with a frame but that’s epic progress when he was on deaths door Tuesday! There’s life and chuntering in the old sod yet so keep up the good vibes sent his way on the ether folk, it seems to be working. I’ll update after the weekend when I’ve had a chance to chat to Loz n Craig on Sunday with more news. Thanks all Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Think he just needed a de coke and his timing done. Either way, similar to Dom, he’s firing on 3 with an intermittent no spark on pot #2
Incidentally, I have to register with the host and carry a card highlighting ‘Lepto’ as I work in and around water and our furry friends!

Evening all. I spoke with Loz today and he’s definitely on the up. He’s managed to raise both his legs about an inch off the bed today whilst being, quote, “quite with it” sooner than the nurses expected. He’s also trying to scratch his face and trying to move his arms albeit only a few cm’s. Presumably as he’s got a beard now which must be quite odd I should imagine. Loz mentioned we’d been asking etc and he tried a smile but nodded gently He can’t talk because of the trache and he’s had a pipe down his neck for ages so he’s blinking answers at the min but he’s on the up which is fantastic news. Loz asked that if some of us could send an audio message to gee him up a bit and right now we’re just sorting a number to send over but I think that’s quite a cool idea if anyone’s up for it. At least he can’t chunter back I’ll keep you posted and it’ll be in a few days. Cheers chaps Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Evening all, Just got off the phone with Stacy, Ken’s eldest daughter. The surgeons were getting frustrated that the tracheostomy had been delayed until Monday so performed the process this morning. All went really well and he’s got his ventilator out and attached to his new pipe location. Although still switched on, it’s intermittent and only comes on at about 35% of the time as he’s doing the rest himself as his meds come down . His sedation drugs are being reduced daily and currently down another 2mg from yesterday to 2mg today and he’s slowly starting to come round a bit with head movements and he’s opening his eyes more. For a stubborn bugger who doesn’t like taking asprin, having enough morphine to floor an elephant through him over the last three weeks means he’s still off his bollox and has that 1000yd stare when he responds but he’s definitely making an improvements….potentially a good sign for a return to compes mentus in the next seven days. Apparently when Stacy was chatting to him this arvo she mentioned us asking about him, the forum etc, he moved his head towards her so she’s convinced he is getting some of it, bless him. More as and when I get it peeps, keep up the good vibes, it’s no doubt helping. Stacy did mention huge thanks for all the support from you all on this, it’s hugely appreciated Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think we should all club together to get something for Ken when he's out of his coma
I’m sure he’d love a big bunch of WHITE roses I can’t think of a better way to let him know we’re all thinking of him………the daft bugger He’d find that really funny too….. Happy to organise if others fancy it I still think it’s a bit extreme doing this just to get out of finishing he bathroom and hall ceiling he started re doing! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

*LATEST UPDATE*
Just got this from Liz as she’s just got home I presume as it’s turfing out time at the hospital……..
Hi Roo, quick update, he’s started to open his eyes a bit more and moves his head around a bit too now. Still settled on his sats and planning on doing the trache on Monday as they had emergencies today unfortunately but he’s made improvements and so just need to see how he goes when he wakes up as he will be frustrated etc with him not being able to do much xx
MORE AS AND WHEN RECIEVED……..

Afternoon all, I’ve got a rare chance of some internet so just thought I’d get an update up here for you all.
I spoke to Loz, Ken’s Doris this morning and although they were going to try yesterday but didn’t, the ICU staff are going to try to get him out of his coma today. First they have to get the respirator off him before so he doesn’t freak out when they bring him round and are going to perform a tracheotomy to help him catch his breath and have a less stressful set too. His temperature is being risen to get things sorted and up to speed but there was a worry that he may have cognitive issues and or some organ damage as a result of the fierce infection ruin he’s been fighting for the last three weeks.
Apparently it’s quite a performance for it to go smoothly so they’re taking all precautions but needless to say, he’s not out of the woods yet and got a hell of a way to go so I shouldn’t think you’ll see him taking part in the London marathon this year although all being well, he should be back to his ‘chuntery’ self in the coming weeks. Loz and his kids thank you all for all the kind comments and good vibes posted on here and via the ether. Hopefully I’m going to have a chat with his daughter a bit later for an update but I’m not calling her, she’s going to call me so either tonight or tmrw, I’ll update on here.
Thanks again folks and keep the good vibes going his way, he needs all the help he can get right now.
Bestest as ever to all
Roo

Ian, Steve and Johnny on Orkney. Some bikes (and Jags) were viewed and some bikes were discussed. Some whisky was tasted, some coffee and cakes were eaten.
