I’d forgotten about that Dave, that’s what the issue was when I originally started the 400, completely forgotten about doing exactly the same thing. It suddenly clicked and I did as you just described. I wonder how many people have had just that issue.

It’s 18 months or so since the 550 was started due to fear of glazing the bores and worked on the mudguards, tank etc. I couldn’t run it as I didn’t have a seat anyway until early this year so until I could, starting wasn’t a priority.

Again, can’t remember what I did to get it running nicely, too much crap has occurred since then and my ‘head’s a shed) at the min. The dusty filing cabinet of a memory can’t dig that one out at the min..

Yeah its definitely getting there, just splashing the cash on heating the workshop up

Do these carb adjusters look at bit far out?  Most photos I see they only show a few threads.  I think I'm going to get them off and revisit the whole carb thing while the tanks hardening up.
Yeah, a bit I think by happy to be corrected, it’s not a huge job to sort though bud, better to be safe than sorry. I’ve both the 400 and the 550 to do once they see the light of day again. Booo! think yerself lucky

I’d go straight to the higher numbered w&d Dom for fear of shredding it. Plenty of water with a squirt of fairy liquid in it and it should rub up well if you’re happy on the set of the paint!
I thought the UV would have done it but chuffed you’re getting there buddy.

That’s a lovely transformation on that engine Roo! Interested to see how you get on with yours Grewth.
Cheers Johnny, I saw it after basting all the bits and kinda liked the blue ‘hue’ it had. Clear corrector to fix it and ta da! It’s a huge difference to the 550 which I did in a silver but this finish kinda suited what she, (who shall remain nameless) wanted. Still live it though.

Hopefully all your hard work in painting is not in vain, if it fully reaches it's expected status slowly then that bodes well for longer term permanent condition.

Looks good though  :)
I’m with you on that Nige,

This was the result of vapour blasting and then clear corrector over the top. I think it looks ace but each to their own.

Not quite sparring yet Dave, I haven’t sunk down as far down to his simple level of intellect yet, just getting ready

Trying me best as yer do, thankfully it’s been warm and dry and that helps a great deal but I’ve been concentrating on working on my fishery trying to getbb by the access sorted so I can drag some machinery in when situations change. I’ll find something, so far only promises and I can’t function on those. Got a week oop norf to do a pond job for a friend but there’s not much in it, more a change of scenery and I said I’d help him so off up there after next week.

Bit quiet and rather solitary but chipper none the less. Just by the fire with some crap radio 4 extra comedy on, had the blues hour on planet rock, it’s Beyond Our Ken next, that’s always good for a chuckle.
