If you are on Facebook ( I got kicked off!  ;D ) there is a group called 'Classic Honda Motorcycles For Sale in the UK' maybe that can help?

Thanks for that Dave. I wondered if this topic had been discussed before but I couldn't find anything searching.

I'm getting that ugly brown colour on my tyre walls again, it might be something to do with the extended life span of old peoples tyres, the compound K tyres on my RG500s never lasted long enough for this.
But is there a good solution, some cleaning agent that works best?

Welcome here H
It's never too late to start again. I was absent from riding for twenty years when I got my leg back over the saddle eight years ago, I'm 69 now.  ;D

Depends on the colour, if its a candy you are stuffed, if its plain get an exact match and nearly fill the hole, when dry finish with laquer then use 3000 grade paper with soapy water
Candy Antares Red maybe I'm stuffed then?  :-\

I just took a ride up to Blackheath, being a moonday morning there weren't many bikes about but the usual murders of the Heaths fabled crows were about. They paid my Elen lots of interest, after all a bag on monkey nuts is yummy!  ;D

Like you, I spray into an aerosol can lid and leave for while for some of the accelerant to disappear. Ian

Thanks Ian, I'll see if that helps, I didn't do any waiting.

Thanks to bars being set a bit too low the switch gear came into contact with the tank making a hole in the paintwork about the size of a match head, also strip of paint that came away when I took off some masking tape that was supposed to protect the tank when I refitted it.  ::) the effect I reduced by using a fine paint brush to apply some paint first sprayed into a cup, but it isn't very good. Is this the sort of thing a professional can deal with without doing the whole tank again, any tricks among you to share?

A few more.
The last 2 taken at Kilmany, birthplace of Jim Clark.
I was a great fan of his as a nine year kid, he captured our imaginations alright. I was in Germany at the time when he came to grief, I bawled my eyes out!

After 20 years living in Orkney, there's no way I would want to return to what now passes as civilisation - no,

I meant back into sea boot socks, not come back to the great unwashed!  ;D

Thanks Ian, why not return to civilization yourself? Sea boot socks are available at £8.oo a pair on Seabay. Not that expensive, less than half the price of Fish & Chips in London! ;D
