This is one of the units from my collection of intercom gubbins on my helmets, I’m struggling with connectivity and after closer inspection it appears this hack point is the issue. Does anyone know of any electrical wizards who might repair this port for me? It appears the factory is on summer shut down as they do over there and heard nothing back after 3 weeks……..proper service
I’ve been in contact with intercom repair folk and they say they don’t want to solder near plastic so won’t. Not sure the difference between microscopic PCB’s and that but there you go.

Possibly computer repair folk but currently out in shire still and not that well equipped with internet facilities. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Cheers all

Desperately Seeking!! / Easy drain sump bolts
« on: March 23, 2025, 05:42:05 PM »
Hi all, my pal is building his latest motor up and as we were chewing the fat the topic turned to a thing he'd seen on the net called and 'EZ drain bolt'. They look terrible and no doubt work the same buit I'm sure someone on here mentioned a company that make nice, out the way, ones that allow ease of draining the sump. My pals a bit stiff with his back so the least amount of time he spends leaning and bent over the better. Can anyone remember which thread it was on? Someone said they had used them for years but cant for the life of me remember who?

Think they were 30 quid ish?????
Basically a fixed bolt that allows a quick release insert I think to allow a quick twist and the oil's draining. Saves him faffing about and keeps him straight.

cheers in advance ;)

Desperately Seeking!! / spare wheels
« on: January 04, 2025, 11:43:50 PM »
Evening people, bit of a long shot and I know I'm chancing my arm  and this isn't really the right forum for this ask but I'm after a front wheel for a VFR400 (NC30) to put in the latest purchase to allow me to fit some better brakes. There's a few on the Bay of Fleas but they're a bit clapped out and really expensive. Just wondered if anyone had one taking up room in a garage somewhere that might need a new home?

Just a thought.
Answers on a postcard as ever  ;)

This looks a good hoot!
This is the China spec from what I gather but looks quite a handy thing in the right scenario

Hi all,
'The Long Haired General' is looking for insurance on 'Chewy' her 400 but having not insured anything this old or modified for a very long time I wondered if any of you on here have  had any good bad, cheap or expensive scenarios when insuring your own bikes recently (12months) and possibly suggest any good companies to approach?

Any help greatly received and with any luck, should have her scootching around the lanes in no time. ;D

Cheers in advance

CB350/400 / Anyone recognise this bit?
« on: May 09, 2024, 09:22:45 PM »
I’m just servicing some carbs for a pal as they’re gritty and a bit nasty although look clean. Upon disassembly this fell out of them. I don’t recognise it and can’t find it in a diagram and don’t actually think it goes with this set!
Anybody recognise it at all?

It’s concave one way and pointy on the other, looks a bit lite the top of the ‘T’s that sit in the lifters but obviously isn’t and I simply can’t place it.

Any idea anyone?

A pal sent me this, it’s the last bombing raid by a squadron of Lancaster’s going over the channel, it’s audio only but gives you a bit of insight as to what they were on with and how calm they all were!

Long but quite an eye opener. You may have already seen the link before but if you haven’t it’s well worth a lusten whilst doing things in the workshop.

Other Bikes / Roo's Viffer
« on: July 13, 2023, 10:24:41 AM »
Well I hoped to be posting a few shots of a sea of bikes at Squires Milk Bar at Sherburn in Elmet, last night but sadly, Houston, we have a problem!

The first time in 21 years Rosey has stopped a journey through failure!

Just got through Boston Spa, opened her up on the nice fat A road and a plug gave up and she started to pop on 3!!! Bugger.

Limped 22miles home on three pots and currently trying to find 4 plugs to get her fettled for the long ride home. Naturally these are the hardest plugs in the world to find unless you want to spend £29.40 each on them………..nope not I!

Found three, just need one more!

Bit of a worry as it’s either a plug or a coil……. Hoping on the former rather than the latter but a poke about will no doubt identify the issue……..fingers crossed!
