Hi all

So the tear down begins

Like any old bike the more you look the more you find questionable







One thing that will need sorting is maybe a replacement centre stand as the one fitted looks a bit shot as it’s travelling too far over centre that allows the back wheel to sit on the deck.




The frame mountings look ok so looks like I will be on the lookout for good secondhand one if anybody has one tucked away please?

Next step is drop the motor out then a bit of frame checking for straightness but recon it’s going to be a trip to motorliner just to ensure all is good before I start the rebuild

Hi all

Bit more tinkering in the garage

Refitted the air box and installed a new air filter.

Also fitted temporarily new throttle cables as the originals were seized solid.

Certainly runs more sweet than my original start up attempt (note carbs not yet balanced) but she also is a bit smoky too maybe from it sitting idle for 10 year plus, but for now happy it just runs.

Next stage before we completely tear it down is to come up with a better solution for the rear sets and some other mounting points for the seat etc while the bike is complete as may need to sort out new brackets and don’t want to start modifying a freshly powder coated frame plus looks like the area where the Center stand mounts will need a repair too as centre stand sits very “over centre”

Hi all.

Next stage of carb rebuild.

Needed some new gasket just for the carb tops but the pain is they are usually only available as part of a service kit, so made some up myself.

Hi All

Ok spent sometime this weekend with my son rebuilding the carbs.



He made a nice job of them and really enjoyed the rebuild and cannot wait to get them back on.

On another note the rubber sync seals on the originals were no longer serviceable and as they are not available individually (as per another thread) have made up  replacements out of 2mm silicone rubber







Not bad and should do the job nicely

Only thing I would change maybe is make in neoprene as it’s more elastic

If anyone is into 3d printing I think it’s possible with TPU filament - 3d drawing might be problematic unless you’re proficient in CAD (or similar)!

Yes I print and sell many parts for the 350LC so maybe time to dabble in printing TPU
