After posting my wanted add and getting feed back from the mad thread this week.
I was just having my morning tea and reading the new posts..I was thinking what a great forum and how useful it is even if it's just a little reading throughout the day.
So just popped a donation over to show some appreciation .
Cheers guys

I agree - lets not take for granted the forum and the costs plus time Steve puts in - prompted me to donate again

Thanks everyone.
I have a "day off" tomorrow (I'm self employed and "days off" mean you don't earn anything...) so I will try and kick some life into the http://info.sohc.co.uk (http://info.sohc.co.uk) site.
The future looks good. We have more active members than ever before and with your continued support we should be able to keep supporting the members with real advice.
Running a forum can be like juggling frogs (?) and the US site has had its moments. Luckily nobody on here needs to vent about that sort of stuff and nobody treats newcomers any differently than long-time members.
"There's no such thing as a stupid question" could be a quote from any of our members. I'd probably give it to Bryan (although you need to consider how many "What bike?" responses he has posted over the years) :)
I've been to a funeral today.
A cousin only one year older than me.
Gives you a bit of perspective.

Well I think the sohc Forum is rather splendid. I like the people and the way it all works rather well. I like the way that newcomers are genuinely welcomed into our little world, and especially the way their questions are answered - without any groaning or tut tutting, and most of all I like the banter.
I am also a member of the TOMCC (Triumph) which is absymal compared to the sohc Forum. Trust me.
I'm also well aware that Steve does a lot of good work for our benefit, and the stalwarts on the Forum are worth their weight in gold, and most months I try and chuck a tenner into the pot, as that's the best way of ensuring the Forum keeps going from strength to strength.
A sure sign of the success of any Forum is the real enthusiasm of it's members and their belief and willingness to 'sell' it to other potential members, and I have had no hesitation in recommending it to a number of people over the last year or so.
Long may it continue.

I have just found these laying around. Do you think Graham is hinting that my Nursing services are required? ;) ;) ;)

OUCH!

I had mine checked and I'm now officially a tight arse?
-
Think I have mentioned it before but this is the Gods honest truth. When I went to have mine 'checked' I was early at the hospital and this posh sod consultant told me to go in his room. He was really friendly to begin with e.g asking me how far I had traveled and did I find the place OK. I went along with it for a bit but it was all a bit confusing. Following that , he started asking me about my medical career etc. Then he realized I was a patient and not his interviewee for an SHO's job "Senior Heath Officer". it was like something out of a comedy sketch ;D.
-
But did you get the job ash?
-
Likewise - I sat through 10 minutes of a Job Interview at Chloride Electrical batteries in Swinton some years ago wondering why he was asking me so many 'daft questions' so I eventually queried if he was interviewing me for the job of a Quality Control Engineer? He looked a bit sheepish and said.....'No....I'm looking for a Production Engineer'.
Needless to say I didn't go back when asked A) because I had found another job and B) because I thought that if they could make such a cock up maybe I didn't want to work for them after all!

Jeez you guys are funny. Still laughing at that. ;D ;D

No he just kicked me out and never apologized to me when I eventually went in as his patient, didn't even mention it. He just kept banging on why I was on the NHS this time and not Private. He also tore a strip of me for trying to tell him some medical fact. Reckoned all his patients nowadays either read 'Doring Kinnersley' books or Google medical stuff and get the wrong info and then try to tell him how to do his job.
You all know Ashomoto ... anorak on all matters! :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

I'm pleased your laughing Roy, Graham wasn't when I was chasing him around the house with the glove and grease saying I needed to update my skills ;D ;D ;D ;D
