Before redex sticking floats leaky carbs unable to idle below 1400rpm
After redex no sticking floats no leaky carbs ticking over lovely
well worth the 6 quid!!
-
Am I right in thinking its basically kerosene dyed red?
So in theory it will clean the carbs
Mick
-
Not sure what's in it but saved a strip down of the carbs for now

You sound more like Graham every day :P

:( :( :( He forgot I was logged in and posted that reply under my name Mick. Would I ever be so rude :) That's why I have deleted it, surely you can't imagine me being so blunt
Xxx

That would explain a lot I should have quoted what was said as forgotten it already ;)
-
Me too :) :) :)

He has just told me he said something like 'shite in the carbs will stay in the carbs unless you take them apart and clean them'
-
My wifes 250 would only run with easy start after a lay up and stale fuel in the tank / carbs, a month soaking in fresh petrol did nothing, but a week in nearly neat redex had it running ok, it can dissolve some crap in a carb, not everything, worth undoing the drain bung with the tap off, if you are tight like me then catch the dumped fuel in a cap of a spray can or something and bung it in the tank again.

it's also brilliant for freeing up seized cables. Just mix with a little bit of old engine oil and put in a funnel at the top of the cable.

Wouldn't recommend that for genuine Honda (teflon lined) cables though.

It's great for storage to avoid carbs furring up, the bottles with a thin spout on them let you squirt it straight down the fuel hose after disconnecting it from the tank.
-
Hey " Guy's n. " girls " try some Cider , that will move most stubborn problems , :) :)
-
It would most likely dissolve the carbs, engine, frame and everything else. By the morning there would just be the seat, tyres and some hoses left.
-
Ha Ha , hey Mike , might solve the problem of some of the bikes , certainly a lot cheaper than carb cleaner or alike 😜 🍺🍺
-
Don't waste good cider on the bike get it down your neck
-
Cider is cirtainly cheap, only costs me the effort of pulping and pressing the fruit.
-
But best for lubricating the throat lol
-
;) i am pissed so ignore comments as i will ignore replies a biker friend of mine (and he owns a pub)said that all ingredients to make cider are in the apples no need for additives so apples have it all goodnite im pished
-
Hey Steff, always thought you Welsh couldn't hold your drink, come to Somerset where they make Proper cider ,then you will have a proper headache , I haven't seen any apple trees on the mountains or valleys over your neck of the woods only Sheep .uh 🐑🐑🐑😜
-
I'm recovering from another bottle of my home made cider, not yet halfway through last years batch of 70 litres. Watch out Somerset, we can do a decent cider, although I inported my wife from Somerset
-
I made 28 gallons of cider once using a home made apple press powered by a hydraulic car jack, a electric dril powered mincer and any old apples I come across.
It was horrible stuff.
Since then I've stuck to beer brewing - I'm very good at that.

;) @shifter us taffs are proud of our drinking abilities .gotto admit cider is not good for me when we was working on m25 a foreman from thornbury used to bring us back scrumpy it was a £1 a gallon then lol never been so bad after drink , i was spewing like a seagull .i said then id never touch the stuff again lol i will stick with stella and thats the name of my drink, shifter

-
What's with the Stella and Magor brewery. All swear words to a real ale drinker.

Any forum members passing through my patch are welcome to pop in and sample the homebrew cider, but I ain't posting it. It is early days as this batch is only my second attempt, first attempt was not exactly great, I left it in the first brew keg too long, second attempt was better having syphoned it into fresh kegs after 2 weeks, and bottling it 3 or 4 weeks later, it is still inproving the longer it is stored, back at christmas it was strong but not that nice, now it is actually matureing to something quite nice.
Stella used to be my feeling poor tipple, but cider is even cheaper - the press and pulper were a lot, lot cheaper then rrp. I vastly prefer real ales though.
