Title: Improvisation.
Post by: Johnny4428 on July 15, 2016, 08:41:18 PM
Hi all. During my rebuild of my cb550k3 engine I found myself short of the large valve Spring seating washers by the tune of 6 wtf....Thing is when ordering spares I had ordered 2 in case there was ones missing, still short of four! Since sorted. When I was replacing rocker cover found to be short of 1 dowel, despite relevant labelled tubs with all parts, at least that is what I thought. But great improvisation with the help of a good 10mm drill bit now 16mm shorter than it should be. Nevertheless very happy to have replaced valves and that pesky little collets without losing any. After 6 months of being p....d off with one or two things that didn't quite go to plan I am finally seeing the project progress.

Anyone know if these valve Spring seating washers are the same as 350/400 fours? I have a couple of complete heads for those and Johnny is also in Orkney.

The Part Numbers for the washers for the 550F are the same as those for the 400.
Inner is 14775-107-000, outer is 14776-107-010.
Don't have a Parts List for the K3 but a quick look on CMSNL shows they are also the same.
