So I'm moving along with the build and while waiting for some bits and pieces (and still practicing my Mig welding so I can weld the loop on) I thought I'd tackle the engine. Over the years it has been brushed painted gloss black on the gearshift side, sump and half the oil filter, the other side has a polished generator cover. The top end is sprayed in satin black.
As I'm going scrambler brat look I was thinking of a satin black all over but what was the original?
Thanks.

Original, all satin black, chrome polished steel covers for points and clutch, valve covers bare alloy unpolished, starter cover was satiny chrome, think highlight on generator cover was brushed ally.

Thanks buddy.

Original satin black, if you can the very best and accurate finish totally oil and fuel resistant is stove enamel, here was F2 engine when completed

Bytio that looks amazing. Mine won't look anything like that. Thanks for the paint tip. Any extra tips when spaying it?
