I have c5 electric ignition and coils, my wiring is near complete and hopefully have all connected and tested in the next couple of weekends. Then I will start the ignition setup. But I am confused with the spark plug caps, I have ngk iradium plugs fitted, plus I have standard plugs on standby.
The caps that came with the bike are ngk caps, but I don't know what ohms they are or if I buy new caps which ones do I purchase, I have been reading on here and on the other sohc forums but now I am confused which ones I need as I might as well replace what I have as I don't know how old they are. Is it the lower the ohms the better or higher eg 2000, 5000. Confused. Yep I am

It certainly is (the linked SOHC article), need to spend some time reading it more thoroughly.
So what is it about GL1000 Gold Wing coils that made them a popular upgrade?

They are 9v coils run with a ballast resistor on the wing

Excellent, many thanks. Quite fancy a gold wing, really nice engines with plenty of power. Maybe next time.
