Title: She made it (the TT trip that is)
Post by: MarkCR750 on June 12, 2017, 06:39:43 PM
Well although I spent most of my time in the IOM worrying that the old girl might pack up on me she didn't, never missed a beat, got mobbed wherever I pulled up and a Japanese journalist called "Yuki" took a load of photo's and is putting it in her magazine, she impressed me with her bike knowledge and has covered 250k miles on her bikes since 1996, she was there covering the Mugen team and said that John McGuiness has vowed privately to return to racing when he's mended, great news, the only fly in the ointment was an idiot that dropped his bike on my leg and bike when getting off the ferry at Liverpool didn't even apologise , my bike looked undamaged but pulling up at sandbach services half way home I found that I was minus a number plate!, anyway due to Teresa Mays slashing of police numbers I made it home without being nicked! 😄, if you get chance to go to the TT take it from me you won't be disappointed 👍

All the time you spent there and you only show one pic.  ;) ;D
I hope the idiot damaged his bike.

Ha, photo bucket is playing up, I got bored with trying to upload, I'll add some more tomorrow, yes I hope he's cracked his fairing at least (and has a bruise to match the one on my leg).

Wow they are getting some speed down, love the noise. Bike is just amazing, did the journalist say she would send you a few pics or a copy of the magazine

Bike looks great in that setting, could almost be a photo from the sixties period.

You could have whipped the number plate off and leant it agsinst the banner for a true racer look.

Nice adventure, I'm very envious.

Maybe that was what the ferry incident was about 😄

That's right, I usually watch a few laps at Sulby then ride up Tholt e Will to the bungalow for the remainder but I was knackered that day and stayed at Sulby, great race from Dunlop.

She took my email address so I'm hoping she'll email me a copy but she didn't specifically say she would, it was weird watching her write down my answers in Japanese symbols!

The classic is great John, not as busy as the TT but still hundreds and hundreds of amazing bikes, I think Sheenes restored RG500 is being ridden by Freddie Sheena there this year.

Cheers Mick, I should have taken more photos around the track really but I was too busy riding!, I was being quite sensible speed wise but even so it brought it home to me just how good all of those TT riders are, I came into one corner at about 60 and spent most of the approach airborne over the bumps!, I guess they would take the same corner at twice that speed 😮

Bike looks at home there, you must have been proud.

Dont know if im just getting to be an old duffer but prefer classic having been to both. A bit more accessible and can relate to the bikes more. Not so much happening other than bikes at classic however, which is where the main event does score.

Yes if they could get the extras that come with the TT added on to the Classic it would be the worlds best motorcycling event, Jurby is excellent too, I think the Classic is ideal to add into a family holiday as it's at the right time of year for good weather and the island is very scenic with good beaches, both really good in their own right though.

They are doing around 170mph here having just taken the bend on the Sulby straight, a few yards down the road the top riders are hitting 200mph.
