Never seen that before just my luck lol . Had no tools on me so had to call recovery out . He said never seen that before
-
Bloody hell Yoz - you've had some bad luck with your bike since the rebuild!
-
Wow, what is that stuck in the chain?
I can't make out the context of the second picture, struggling to place where it is.
Bet that was scary!
-
Second picture is the cover that goes over front sprocket and it's a 6 mm nut that's stuck in chain.
-
The lock up would be when the nut forced the chain off the front sprocket into that cracked cover, luckily there should be loads of those covers about, just hope no damage behind it
-
Crikey, lucky you were just in the village and not on a motorway. Where did that nut come from?
-
Bad luck .. as long as you are OK though.
I have a spare cover .. a bit moth eaten on one edge but if yours is painted it would probably be fine. If you want it I can picture. Just pay postage.
-
Sounds like you had a lucky escape there Yozzer!, good job you weren't on a bend at speed, I've never heard of that happening before to anyone, I'll check my nuts for tightness (so to speak) tomorrow.
-
I think an event like that would make sure anyone's nuts were properly tight ;D along with a few other parts as the anatomy as well!
Yozzer, was it a nut that fell off your bike or something kicked up from the road?
-
It looks like one off my bike but I can't see we're from .unless it's one I've lost on bike when I've been working on it ??
-
Blimey, could have been a lot worse. Best spend half an hour with the spanners checking everything. On a big rebuild job it's easy to overlook something.
My oil pump cover were a bit loose which leaked oil but could have come off on a long trip dumping all my oil on the M5.
See you Sunday.
-
It would be unusual for something like that to stay around long if you'd just dropped it in the past, also to get to the inside run of the chain.
Can't remember what chaingaurd you've got on it, could it be anything from there?
-
No I haven't got a chain guard on it
-
Maybe something flung up from the road, but wow never seen anything like that either. Un lucky but lucky at same time
