Hoping for some advice regarding what to pay for a decent loooking rideable CB750K7?
Ones I’ve seen and sold have sold for less than the more desirable K models,am I right in thinking this is so? I know of one coming up for sale with a brand new 4into4 exhaust system ( Thought they were unobtainabl? ) Don’t know the asking price yet.
-
I think you are right Dave, they do appear to be a little less pricey than the earlier models... But the right price depends upon other factors as well not just the model. I.e. is it original or restored what condition, what milage, a runner or non-runner.. etc etc. If you can get some photo's and a full description I'm sure you will get some good indicators from those in the know.
-
Yes these factors I’m aware of,few “nice†ones on Fleabay I have put a few bids in on a red one but not keen auctions prefer to look at bike and agree a price.
-
In my search I have come across models~F0,F3 and K8 American models I guess?
-
FO I don't recognise.
We got F2 and K7 as a pair for the same years, updated in USA to F3 and K8, so as you thought likely to be from the land of the free :)
-
The ones you bid on didn’t happen to be “twowheelspares†DK motorcycles did they? If so they are very happy for you to visit the shop and “buy it now†while the auction is still running..... better than waiting for it to end on ebay and trying to win the auction... only to find that somebody else visits their shop and the bike suddenly disappears before the auction ends, i.e. gets bought.

Not two wheel spares/D+K.Dealer I’m assuming?in London has a nice Red K2 I was bidding on up to £6k now.Nice K1 for £8k in Newton Abbot has caught my eye but likely a dealer too.I know of a K7 which is what I realy fancy (someone has to lol) won’t know till Monday what buyer wants for it,he says it has a brand new 4 into 4 exhaust system fitted! Didn’t think they were obtainable. Will be patient as it’s only March
-
Unless he's got very lucky and found a NOS 4 into 4, to the best of my knowledge they are not available. It may be an aftermarket exhaust like a MIVV or similar, unless he's fitted a K1-6 exhaust that are not even close to K7 units. You need to ask the question.
-
Yes thought they were not available but I was lucky not long back sourcing a complete system taken off a fairly new Nighthawk and stored in as new condition, could be pattern from the earlier Ks will find out Monday.
-
I’ve changed direction away from the K7 I wanted and found a F1 in what looks like good condition.I haven’t seen it in the flesh yet that won’t happen till weekend,I’m wondering if the F1 riding position is different to a K series model in that the footrests/controls are further back?
-
A far better choice.
Over the Butt ugly k7.

🥵Beauty is in the eye of the beholder lol.
I have a habit of buying bikes I owned or desired in the 70s.I had finally given up on Triumphs after a disastrous purchase of a new Bonne in 1976,had a planned trip to continent following year and couldn’t risk it so planned to buy a new K series 750 missed out on the last of K6s and a K7 I realy fancied but couldn’t quite afford so bought a 550 four instead, long story but that’s why I wanted a K7

Beauty is in deed in the eye of the beholder.... you should buy the bike you fancy regardless of others opinions... 8)

I like my 1500 quid butt ugly k8. It's comfier than my settee.

What's not to like... they are the ultimate evolution of Honda's SOHC 750.. and you can easily change the original "sensible" looks with a new seat and exhaust system.
Look at this beauty!

A vast improvement indeed.
" comfier than a Settee" funny this getting old thing.
-
I will see how things go with this F1,I had a K6 bought used many years ago and I liked it enough to yearn for another.I have issues bending my knees/getting comfy on a bike these days so be interesting how it feels,I sold a Jota and a Suzy Kettle both mint condition as I couldn’t ride them but knee surgery hopefully will have remedied the problem.
-
I will also be looking for a 750 (hopefully K7) to restore soon, had one from new and loved it, eventually sold it after 10 years but now I'm at an age I want to get another one and restore it if necessary. D&K seem ok but its a long way from Aberdeen so will have to plan it !!
This was mine when it was a couple of years old, we were on our way to our first European trip (Switzerland and back) and it was a fantastic holiday and memories, plus Deriboots !!
-
I remember deriboots! We sold loads of them!!!
-
I stopped wearing Derri Boots after sliding off my bike at low speed rubbing my foot along on ground the heat generated caused a nasty burn on my heel
-
We all wore Derri boots when I was at Uni.
They were waterproof!
One of my mates painted his so they looked like racing boots.

Yes everyone wore them years ago both warm and waterproof
-
Derriboots...what the rich guys wore instead of wellies :)
My dad swore by them for wet weather wear....but by the time I started riding...they were old fashioned. The trend was for Frank Thomas buckle-boots....that leaked like a sieve in rain...so you stuffed your feet in a carrier bag to keep your socks dry.
Mind you...that was ruined when they started putting holes in them to stop people suffocating themselves.

"One mans meat" so to speak, this is the last type of bike i would use.
-
The K8 in the attachment is beautiful but much more than a paint job and aftermarket exhaust. Look at the rest of the bike and the machinery in the background. It shows serious intent and ability.
-
Yes everyone wore them years ago both warm and waterproof
think I still have a pair in the garage
-
NCB steel toe capped wellies for me. They cost nowt. :) I still have a pair in the garage.
