I have been looking for a grab rail for the 1971 CB500K0 that I am working on and have seen several references that suggest it did not have a grab rail. Is this the case and if so how do the rear indicators attach? I do seem to remember that the 1974 CB500 I owned 40+ years ago did not have a grab rail but did have a “handle†on the left side to assist in getting the bike on the centre stand. Is my memory playing tricks on me?

Not sure about every model without checking, but generally the USA models have a chrome grab rail carrying the indicators on little brackets, the uk models have no grab rail but small black brackets for the indicators and a single handle for lifting ono the ctr stand

The US 500/4 K0 had a 1 year only ‘shallow’ uplift grab rail. See photo above..

Ah Ok. So is this for a Uk bike?

The bike was originally a US bike, but is now a bit of a mongrel, as it has a few 550 parts on it. Not really worried about it being “correctâ€, just looking for a grab rail / indicator or handle / indicator solution without spending too much.

If you’re not worried about originality just get on eBay and find any old Cb500F grabrail..
