According to the parts book that plate should be underneath oh the RH side and is to hold the carb drains etc
-
cheers bryan will move it down to bottom of bolt,
hmmm one hole is much bigger than the other does it show how many drain tubes goes down each hole
-
If you are still reading this - thanks for postng the image. I'm restoring a 550F1 and couldn't remember how to fit the spring - even thought I'd power-coated the half-moon bracket - doh!
-
Mike I think all the carb drains go through the big hole, the small hole is for the battery overflow if I recall correctly
-
unfinished project

Mike for what it's worth, why don't you get the nuts and bolts re-zinced seeing you've a new coat on the frame, it's not expensive and it'll make it look much better?
I'm restoring a 500 and had plenty of stuff rezinced and it looks like new.

Where do you get your Zinc-ing done mick?
-
Ultimate Shine - Liverpool Sydney Australia. I think it might be a bit out of your way in Sussex.
Spring cost $2 and the C $4
Every nut, bolt washers, carby parts and studs $250 the lot all look brand new
-
Mick, nothing is out the way for James. But i think you have him on this one ;)
-
I'm sure there are chromers there that would re zinc its part of what they do.
-
Mick, did you find a set of seat rubbers for your CB500?. As i still have a set Free if you want them.
