Title: Rod Gibson has Died?

Just read about this on another suzuki forum from the states, says that he died on the 28th june after a long battle with Cancer? aged 54 , anyone know if it is correct? cheers Mick.

Sadly it is true, there was a mention of it on classicbike forum and also a 2 page spread in Classic Motorcycle Mechanics of which he was the editor. He was ill for some time. A sad loss to the motorcycling world.

Yes it was a bit of a shock.

He'd been ill for ages and C&MM had a series of "stand-in" editors, each month syaing that Rod was getting better.

Then this month...

Cheers chaps, came as a bit of a shock to me to  :o, saw him at stafford in april and he had lost a bit of weight but otherwise looked ok, sad indeed :'(, RIP Rod.

Yes it is true and his z1 is up for auction at the stafford show being auctioned by bohnams.

Is that the one that he rebuilt for the mag?
