steve d you dont happen to have parts list photo for the front spindle do you ,
best i can explain is where the chrome cover sits speedo side , under that chrome cover there is part which splits into 2, round the part that pushes out is a rubber seal, it looks like a ver small rubber band

Silvers can normally find these bits over the phone without part numbers, might do the trick. Ps did you get the bearing retainer out in the end?
-
Don't know if this helps, but...
-
Yes its all stipped , have one side of bearing back in , had to chop it out in the end , still got to do back wheel , big learning curve for me this but getting there
-
will see if its available seperately cheers
-
Well not available from ds, might have to make something
-
The only seal I know of is part of the speedo drive.
-
bryan on that part no 8 there is a section that pushes out, round that part there is like a band will try and get a pic up

I don't see why not - there's no oil pressure behind it is there?
-
that i am unsure of
-
That was a rhetorical question Mike... ;D
There is no pressure - it's just a grease seal for the front wheel.
-
:D
Oh right steve, will make something to get this sealed up , just got back to change bearings and then wheels can go back on
getting there slowly
-
That speedo drive plate is totaly different to ANYTHING i have seen before!! It ought to be one steel piece or how will it drive the gearbox?
