Title: What is the 'Clutch Switch?
Post by: Athame57 on August 04, 2021, 05:30:03 PM
Something I've noticed on the DSS site but not on my bike is the clutch switch..... or have I got something else missing?

All modern bikes have a switch that isolates the starter unless the clutch lever is pulled in.

Some of our old bikes have this too.

My old Daytona 1000 had a sidestand switch too. It didn’t have a centre stand so wouldn’t spin the motor unless the clutch was pulled in and you were sitting on the bike with the sidestand retracted.

PITA

Its supposed to be the starter works with either the green light on OR the clutch pulled, switches regularly buggered up and got disconnected in headlamp shell.
For info the front brakelight switch from a drum braked 125 is same except wire colours and used to be cheaper
