Well. if all the planets are in alignment. and the heebie jeebies stay away, I should collect the 400-4 tommorow. first job to be done is get it back to an exe employers workshop who has kindly donated me the space and use of for the main and also if its a goer either a boxer size van to pick it up or a small van and plant trailer........ so seccond job (as i know its arunner) is to get it nice and warm and drop the oil. while thats happening seat tank rear lights indicators wheels swinging arm front forks etc ripped off then while still in frame crack the stator taper seal and undo the casttelated nut on clutch master drum.. refitting cases after then out it comes... the frame is then being sent to be fine blasted but while still in the workshop i may as well take up my former employers offer and erm weld up all the seams of the main box section frame also check how gusseting/braceing is and rectify if need be.... the engine is a total strip down as it shows 58k on the clock but cannot be varified im assuming it will require a re-bore, see if crank serfices need any light dressing over and bearings accordingly....... crank is going to be peen stressed and ballanced/ polished.........and the rods pistons gudegeon pins will be weight ballanced for the best match, head mildly ported and poliched new valves and guids if needed all new bearings throught and seals "o" rings etc....... still toying with rear end go 6082 ally or high carbon steel for the main billet parts with rect box as members box/box for hoop and then the central trunnion carrier for the system ive devised.....one thing there will be plenty of running gear/ and stopping susspension available as i will not be useing the standard 400-4 units, so depending on there condition anyone in need of such items may have a smile on there face after all. i will keep posted and take b4 during and compleate pics as it progresses. it will be at least 1 year to get back on road as i,m a sticlker for everything. still beats watching telly or picking your nose and whats a few expenatives and grazed/ cut fingers.I must be MAD ;D

Well got the bike back to a exe employers yard/worshop just b4 they shut up at 6pm. went in next day fired her up and dropped oil. then good brush over with traffick film remover and a blast over with there high pressure steam cleaner and yes it is a steam cleaner not just a pressure washer, planned to go in today to take some low res pics for board b4 i started stripping her down, but circumstances conspiered to keep me away ( read contractor not comming out at agreed time to do a job) so to appease myself ive charged up 2 sets of batteries for tommorow (friday) and ive just bought an ultrasound cleaner for the carbs n fiddaly internal parts.
also was looking around for insurance and loads of well known names did not want to know after 2 3 hours on phone i was passed to a specialist insurance broker / company FOOTMAN JAMES who will insure a lay up fully comp for theft acc damage etc and the price
