Title: CB750F1 Silencer
Post by: martin_uk on April 26, 2023, 11:05:20 AM
As the weather improves motivated to get bikes sorted. :)

My original 4 into 1 Silencer is showing signs of deterioration and thinking again if replacements available.

I see Busso in Italy show one but image doesnt show mounting.

Does anyone have any experience of them of could recommend an alternative?

Checked and silencer is Euro 300 and delivery another 150 and that is before any taxes or duty

That sort of money makes this seem attractive.

The last original looking copy silencer I found was in Argentina I think and was £800+shipping +duty hence why I said that looks cheap.

I see DS are doing the repro K7 pipes, not sure if they are from Busso?

Maybe DS will do a repro silencer to fit the OE pipes, assume unit cost will come down on shipping in bulk.

I did buy a NOS collector from CMSNL but was about £750, I have one of the seperate pipes, a NOS large clamp  and one pipe to get .

Probably be afraid to fit them  :)

I can't see them being any cheaper if DS start doing them It might just make things a little easier.

A YouTuber spanner rash fitted a delkevic 4 into 1 system to a K series 750, but I expect it will look quite different to the original. My bike has a megaphone fitted and has a crude wire holding the silencer baffle in place, it sounds business, but it was always on the ‘to replace’ list. However I always balked at the £650 to £750 price tag for places that did a compatible exhaust delivered to a UK address.

On these systems can you re-use the original castellated clamps at the cylinder head?
Just that that would be a nod to the original system.

My F1 has a BSM silencer the type that that Dave Silver's used to sell, good quality, and a bit quiet but a drill fixed that, don't know if the y are still in business though.

Thanks Dennis.

I have done an initial search and DS US come up for BSM but dont list for CB750F1.

I will search further.

I did ask if Busso have a cheaper, slower delivery option, but no reply so far.
