Title: My old 500/4 sadly long gone (about 1978)
Post by: Bubbadel on August 06, 2010, 11:36:26 AM
Loved this old bike, handled quite well too (better than the 750/4) Had rickman fairing and Dunstall tank/seat unit. the exhaust can i bought from Pride and Clark in Stockwell, it was a straight through short reverse cone megaphone...Made a great noise and fire at the back on overrun :) Police didn't like it too much but i never used to stop back then :o
This had to go when i got my 810

That looks like around the back of Druids at Brands Hatch back in the days when you could drive right around that part of the circuit & park up.

Steve had a Rickman fairing on his 500/550 as did I on my 750F2. But when I kept on bashing my knees on the trailing edge of the side of the fairing I knew that when I used it on my later version I cut it down to 2/3 of the 3/4 fairing.

I couldn't remember where that was but now you mention Brands, I think it is...
True about the knees, but handy when it rained, I used to tuck my knees inside the fairing to keep them dry  :) Talking of Brands back then, you used to to be able to do a track day (afternoon) for

It seems it is illegal to search for a vehicle that you no longer own?

Go here (http://www.taxdisc.direct.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/) and select "Vehicle Enquiry"

You need the reg number only.

My old 500/4 was last taxed in 2002 so it must be:
a) dead and buried, or
b) SORNed and in a barn somewhere
