Title: cb500 frame number

i have 1973 cb500 i am about to restore.
the problem is i cant find the frame number anywhere.
i have the engine number and the original registration
and the bike has been in my posession since 1981
but i have lost the log book
is there an way i can find out the original frame number from the information i have.

Have you looked on the headstock on the left hand side?  I know on mine I could hardly read it until I scratched off all the layrs of paint that had built up over the years.

Mine is almost illegible on the headstock due to overzealous restoration in the past. If you can't read the stamped numbers (even after removing paint, then the only route may be VJMC/DVLA (assume you have a reg number?)
