Title: Fuel tap gubbins CB550F2
Post by: Laverdaroo on June 07, 2024, 11:32:09 PM
Evening all, it appears I have lost the small rubber washer as shown in the piccy, has anybody got a spare or know where I might be able to find one?

Big ask I know!(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240607/bec1fccde983fb3ad4759fda2f01f378.jpg)
It sits under that gauze on top of the tap……..

Do I specifically need one, that shape or can I get away with a flat rubber washer in its place? The Honda one has cut outs, is it something to do with this slot?
Excuse or if in there, was fiddling with what I had and didn’t take it out first the pic.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240607/55fc76dc51173b73478af845d6a7f78e.jpg)

If it's a thick o-ring Roo can you use two thinner o-rings together to give the correct inner and outer diameter? I'm only suggesting this because you can no longer get the o-ring for the 400/4 fuel tap (this is the o-ring that fits behind the front plate of the tap and not the one on the fuel delivery tube as you need). DSS sells a replacement kit that consists of two rings placed together, it does work. Maybe try a similar approach?

Nice one Dave, so am I completely covering the base of the pipe to cover all of the aperture and that smiley face you can see?
Excuse triping errors, I only read it again this morning and realised it must have been very late

DO NOT cover the smiley face, that is your reserve outlet mate

Never even come across the opportunity to look into one until now Bryan, that’s just the info I was after, at least I can fashion something up. My strainer tube is brand new it’s just there was a small slit in the bag so no washer. I could get another as mentioned, from DSS but I’m not paying 30 odd quid for a rubber washer. Really helpful, cheers mate
