Title: CB250rsa a long shot but here goes
Post by: T250TUT on June 11, 2024, 10:29:14 PM
Hi All
has anyone got any mounting brackets for the handle bar fairing on a Cb250rs??  I know they are not OEM but there does seem to be a lot of them about so any info useful and / or a spare set of mounts very useful to buy or borrow to copy

TIA  ;)

Sorry but I don’t have the fittings you need but I do know a bit of information about the fairing as I restored one of these bikes in 2017.

The fairings are very difficult to get hold of in anything like a reasonable condition being made of very thin plastic and were usually the first things to break in a tumble. They were actually made by Honda, there is a black & silver foil sticker on the inside of the fairing beside the smoked screen with the wording manufactured by Honda etc and were part of the accessory range at the time. There were non OEM suppliers of similar fairings; I think Sprint Manufacturing was one of the companies.

I spent a couple of years searching for an original fairing that had the fittings and also had a full and undamaged screen. The acrylic screen was badly marked and took hours of polishing by hand using a special acrylic polish to remove the scratches.

You will find you need to put a thin sheet of rubber between the mounting bracket and fork leg (as Honda did) as the bracket is too big for the leg!

Piki (Reddice) on here makes all the decals for the CB250RS including the black/silver foil sticker for the cockpit fairing.

Join Facebook RS private group and ask there ...if anyone has them it will be those guys. One of them sorted me out with the position of the pinstripes on the tank and another guy offered me a side panel. One of the better Facebook groups for definite and no smart ars*s from my experience. If you dont want to join I can ask for you if you wish. Lots of those fairings on Japan Yahoo Auctions ( no eBay in Japan)

Here we go ... very rarely get RS Genuine Honda fairings on sale on eBay UK ... Yahoo Japan Auctions has four on at the moment. :)

That's looking good Ash.
Do you ever get the feeling of wishing you never sold a particular motorcycle  :(

I sent you a link to the Facebook RS private group. If you need me to endorse you then just ask (unlikely you will need that  though).

Here is a link to my RSA project. I have done quit a  bit since my last post but as soon as I have finished painting it,  I will post plenty of updates.

I was really highlighting the availability of fairings in general in Japan ... I buy direct via my friend in Japan ... so no experience of buying through a 3rd party like Jauce (see link). However, I reckon you will find the brackets in the UK or somebody willing to measure theirs on the FB group.

Please keep posting on here in addition to FB  though :)

I have used the Jauce auction site quite a few times to obtain bits for my Honda FTR223, never had a problem. Since Covid the Japanese EMS postal service will only send items to the UK by surface, can take up to 90 days.

There are a few topics relating to the CB250RS on the forum. Use the search facility and you'll find them, they do make interesting reading.
Here's the link to my rebuild, it may help you if you are restoring one of these;
