In the parts box I came across two spacers (clutch) I've bought decades ago, for... just in case. I guess Honda has fitted these on assembly when a clutch showed a degree of play and none when there was no play at all. My own bike came with none and still does not need one. Am I right to assume it has little to do with wear? The smaller one is 0.5mm thick and the larger one 0.1mm. Why the outside diameters are different? No idea. :? By the way, the spacers are mentioned in all CB500/550 parts lists as optional parts either with ( ) or with an 'N'.

I think Oddjob had some made a while ago and he sent me a couple FOC

You can still message Ken on here but leave your phone number, he can’t message back. Think he’s got some sets left.

Yes they were optional to take out engineering tolerances, common to find non fitted

A member in the German forum worried after he had turned two CB550s into one and had three of these left over. I still don't understand why my 0,1mm spacer is bigger than the 0,5mm one. Were they meant to go in different spots?
