Title: Selling my K0
Post by: paulbaker1954 on September 10, 2024, 12:37:45 PM
I have recently been thinking about selling my 500 Four K0 but have no real idea as to asking price

Its a USA import K0 and has had a lot of time and money spent on it, main things are

Full stripdown and..............
Rebult engine with new pistons and rings
Repained frame
Refurb carbs from Gerben in Holland
CMSNL replacement exhausts
Replaced chain and sprockets
Replaced clutch
Boyer electronic ignition and micro coils
Replaced rear swing arm bushes
New fron brake lines
Lots of other bits and pieces I dare not add up

All other chrome is original and has some slight pitting but nothing to worry about

This is a nice rebuilt original bike, not concours but in good nick

I have no idea as to worth, I dont want to auction it just prefer to list it with a fixed price

I was thnking of £5,500 but would welcome others thoughts[attachimg=1]

That’s a lovely looking bike Paul. Not actually looking for one at the minute but I wouldn’t ask any less than your price.👍

Very fair price IMHO. Even in a very tough market I'd say it stands a good chance of selling at that price.

As others have said a nice looking bike at a good value  price - I suspect it might be a good idea to price it a little higher (£5699 or similar) to give you some haggling room to end up with £5500.

Keep us posted on the sale please - I haven't put your bike on my e-bay as  as a watched item to avoid a false list of watchers.

Goes without saying I hope you find a serious buyer.

Hi Paul, looks very good. What is the eBay fee like?

Isn't it 10%

Sometimes items are just 1% selling comission when on e-bay they give private sellers an offer. When I sold my spare 400 engine I had that deal. Might cost more for a vehicle.

For vehicles, ebay Classified is £20 regardless of the sale price.
Fixed price listings cost £14.99 plus a final value fee of £25 or 1% of the sale price, capped at £45.00

This what a google search reveals for an auction price rather than a Classified listing.

The fee for adding a reserve price to an eBay auction listing for a motorcycle is 4% of the reserve price, up to a maximum of £150 per item. This fee is charged regardless of whether the item sells.

So going the classified advert route that Julie shows would there be a listing fee plus final value fee to pay?

No, a classified listing fee of £20 is the total amount of charges regardless of whether the bike sells or not and the listing lasts 30 days. If the bike doesn't sell in those 30 days, you've lost £20.00.

That's pretty fair compared to the old days of listing in the local evening paper.

I love the bike - the spokes are a bit minimalist but looks easy to keep clean.

I can see why you went for it - a single front disc!
