My bad it was Bryan - too much daytime TV - it sounds an interesting option as Chroming is now so expensive plus powder coating is not generally DIY in application.

Do you know where to get it from Bryan? My starter motor cover chrome is shot and I was thinking of painting it as getting just that rechromed doesn’t seem to make sense in terms of cost or time. Might be a good test case?

I dont think you can buy it, i remember the operator saying there was a "secret" ingredient.

Look up Mike Brewer and Elvis doing a C reg (first  C!!) 850 mini in cream, they did the grill, bumpers, maybe hub caps and other bits

Im going to buy some of that car wrapping material; they do that in chrome and a small sample is  £4 from eBay. Enough to experiment with on a starter motor cover. It’s probably rubbish but you never know

When I worked for MB we had a customer who had his Maybach wrapped in silver for Limo hire. It looked pretty good. Even better was a Smart Four2 wrapped in a sort of chain mail finish it looked brilliant. If you use it on your starter cover any imperfections in the cover will show through so surface preparation is key to the outcome.
