No mate i worked in gloucester branch with old Mr Mead in charge.
I distinctly remember old Mr Tomkinson being killed, he was living in france and had been for some time when one day turned the wrong way out of his drive and went head on car to car.
I did get to touch the Kawasaki "Nessie" when it came to glos with an alternator problem

Didn't they also build the Laverda engine 'Nessie'. Were they a Laverda dealer?

Yes,
I think they got the Laverda motor from the Slaters, at Bromyard
They imported them

There was quit an impressive 24 hour racing pedigree using many different models including Vellocette, BSA, Laverda and others.
Upstairs in Gloucester was a real Alladins cave with bikes you only ever hear about but rarely see, Royal Enfield Flying Flea anybody

Ah so it is John, I looked at that photo for quite a while without realising it was Hereford old bridge, even now I'm trying to decide if that building is still there.

The building has been remodeled into a restaurant, bar venue, not sure what, called Left Bank Village,
But back in the history, I tried to remember some of the racers that rode for M&T
Alan Peck, used to have a Saint logo on his helmet
Nigel Rollason, think he raced sidecars as well
A very young Neil Tuxworth,

Hope the link works
