Title: Battery Rubber
Post by: XS850 on September 24, 2024, 09:21:21 AM
Hello All - there is a “Battery Rubber” listed in the parts manual 31503-044-670. I can’t see exactly where this should fit - is it a protector for the side cover or does anyone know where else this should go please?
TIA Bruce

If my amateur effort at loading a pic works, it's part No. 92 between battery and side cover.  David Silver can obtain in approx. 5 days.  Which part of Suffolk?? I am in Laxfield.

I see it now that little rubber part can't remember what it's for though.
Is there a boss on the frame where it pushes on?

Update - just had a look at my 400 there is a small flat section to the frame roughly in the middle where the battery sits. It looks as if its designed to act as a guide when you fit the battery in place and to stop the battery moving upwards when in place. Mine has a cut off bit of vent pipe over it.

The steel loops at either end hook onto folded over bits on the battery tray at either side and its there to hold the battery in, Nurse Julie did sell them cheaper than DSS

Thanks Guys,

I have one in the 'left over' pile after the rebuild, wasn't sure what it was for.....
Now I do!

Thanks again.

That’s great - thank all. Photos speak far better than words sometimes (Magpie114 that’s great! and agree with Ted as to the reasoning for it although with a Motobatt battery in I’m not sure whether the rubber bit would serve any purpose!
As for where in Suffolk (trickymicky) -I’m 5 miles from Leiston (Tunstall) so DS is perfect for me as there’s no postage costs!
