Apologies for the header query but I’ve a couple of parts required queries.
Just finished the complete rolling Chassis rebuild (minus tank still to be painted) so dragged out all the engine bits that had been squirrelled away for the last 4 years, crankshaft/conrods etc no problem as been collecting expected replacement parts for that area since I bought the bike.
Area I hadn’t looked at were the gearbox components - I’ve now got two items that need replacing - gear main shaft (DSS can get but £400 - double ouch & 400/4 bits has a couple but an unknown quote just yet for one). Please, does anyone a reasonable one going spare they’re willing to part with for a reasonable price?
Second item is the Counter Shaft Gear (23420-377-000) with a badly worn bush - gear not available but has anyone succesfully re-bushed this or have a decent one not wanted please - again, happy to pay a reasonable price for one?
All other parts are available so not worried about bearings/seals replacement etc.

Steve @ 400/4 Bits has come back with good pricing but that still leaves me with the Counter Shaft Gear (Low) with a problem - would appreciate if anyone has a link to the bushing if it’s available - there’s a “new†gear on eBay but it doesn’t have the bush in it (assuming they’ve got their part number correct) which suggests a bush might be available!

Did a lot of searching for the bush/bearing for the Counter Shaft (low) gear, removed the old one and it’s a Bi-Metal type, couldn’t find anything that matched the size so opted for a split Bronze Bush (see photo), installed, cut down to correct width, cleaned it up and tried - seems a perfect (I hope) fit, runs smoothly with no “wobble†or side to side movement!

That's a great result Bruce!
I was away in Germany when you first posted and was going to respond when I got back but you've got it sorted now. As you say, the original was bi-metal but your solution is fine. Did the original have oil retention 'dimples' rather than a spiral groove? I did a similar one on a car part a while back and put the dimples in with a tiny round burr in the Dremel - just freehand.
Ian
Oops! Just expanded your pic and I see the dimples!

Thanks Ian - wasn’t sure if anyone has a specific part number for the bush/bearing from Honda as I haven’t got it shown or listed. This should last as well as the original though as long as it’s not run low on oil which I suspect happened previously looking at the excess wear on a few bearings etc!
