Title: Steel Dragon Air Filter on the way.
Post by: ComfySofa on April 09, 2025, 04:23:36 PM
As above - the lovely Roo will 'ave it in his backpack for me in a few weeks time... up til now ive still not managed to get the carbs working properly on mine. An added hassle is actually the removal of the carbs in itself is a monumental pain to get out and even worse to re-seat so ive opted for a Steel Dragon as that will make the whole removal process easier. Question is that i know ive got to rejet it so whats the recommended new size i need.?

Thanks all
Andy

I just noticed it says "SOHC expert" next to me...thats one thing im not.!

Hi Bryan!

TBH im not sure....as the filter is probably drawing in more air im guessing that im going to need more fuel going in.....

I do appreciate you did mention about getting the Steel Dragon and everything that goes with it but im taking the carbs in and out so often and the stock airbox is so soft and bends around its near impossible and harder everytime i refit it...i thought from a removal (and refitting) point of view.....its 10 times easier..!

In theory the main jet alowys enough petrol through to mix with the amount of air the carb throat can pass, changing the filter does not alter any sizes so, again in theory, you should not need to rejet.

Only thing is theories dont always work!
