Interesting ..... yes. You could call it that.

I presume the large 'hump' was to prevent the owners guide-dog slipping off the back under hard acceleration.

I briefly tried to work out what it's made out of. First thoughts were a CB900/750f seat plastic/ ducktail, but it looks to chunky for that.   Maybe part of a fairground boat....!

Then I gave up.

Old pvc covered sofa arm with a waffle maker stuck on the rear! It is not a good look, quite like the tank though!

Well it was a K3 once so not worth a lot to start with.
Probably £500 to take it away!!

Got some Marzocchis AG Strada dampers fitted, worth a few quid by themselves.

Yes Ken but I bet you haven't got a K3 in the collection😉. In the words of Mrs Doyle from Father Ted, "Go On, Go On , Go On, Go On" Make that offer and then we'll know what's in that seat!

I think I need to defend the reputation of the K3 a little here after owning one for 38 years!  The wife talked me out of selling it a few times. Glad now she did!

To me the K3 is Hondas attempt to merge a 500 and a 550F, try and get the best of both. However it didn't. They lost the iconic tulip bulb exhausts, that lost it the character the 500 had, the seat went way OTT in a attempt to make it more comfortable and it just looks ugly compared to either the 500 or 550F, the lights went FUGLY, way too big. In order to save on parts they nicked most of them off the 550F2, same forks, same front mudguard, same clocks, that part they got right. In order to try and get past emission restrictions they had to fit PD carbs and whilst better in some respects than before they just don't work if the bike isn't used regularly, way to prone to blocked jets.

The rest of the bike is fine, the engines good etc. Given a choice I'd choose either the 500 or the 550F over it though.

.....but luckily, there's is a seat for sale on eBay which ( if you agree with those comments) could go someway to saving your bike!
