Hi all , I've been having issues with condensors on my 1972 750 k2 and am contemplating fitting electronic ignition but have no idea what systems are out there . Are there any that are recommended by you guys ? Has anyone used the system from David Silver's , about £165 I think ? I'm no engineer so layman's terms only please lol . TIA.

Maybe best to either fit new condensers and diagnose the issue before investing in electronic ignition.

Are you using genuine points or those horrible Diechi things (sorry can't remember the spelling). I fitted a Silvers electronic on my 750F2 about 10 years ago and have never touched it since. It has done a fair number of miles in that time as well.
Julie is right though, probably best to find the condenser issue first.

I have a DS electronic ign on my 550k3, a Dyna s on the 750k3 and points and condensers on my 550k1. All work just “perfect” to quote a famous engineer!😜

Got a Boyer digital (red box) on my CB750F1.
Amazing difference with extra low down power and torque, I think the digital advance curve must be better than the original Honda mechanical advance/retard unit.
But the best thing for me is the 'fit and forget' maintenance.

I've had the Boyer and DS, found the boyer to be much superiour with the throttle curve/advance programmed in really hits the sweet spot.. the DS and similar systems rely on weights for the advance, I believe it runs better with well set up points.

Honduran, from "the other place" has developed an electronic system. It keeps the points and condensers in place, but they just trigger the electronics which then fire the coils. (If I understand it correctly)
Since only a mini current is passing through the points, they "never" wear out; I would imagine the same goes for the condensers, though they can break for other reasons.
I put mine in some 50-60,000 kms ago and have not had a problem. And while I've checked the timing, I've rarely had to adjust it.
The beauty of the system is that if it packs up, you just disconnect the wiring, reconnect as per the original and go on your way.

I have the Hondaman on my CB350F...... just to add, you can (maybe should) leave the condensers disconnected, and if you ever broke down, reconnect them then.
